Associate Professor - Accounting

We are looking for an Associate Professor in Accounting. We have a permanent role based in East London.

POSITION INFO :

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide academic leadership in research; curriculum design, development, and implementation
• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules
• Meet research publication requirements for the academic rank of Associate Professor
• Secure external research grants and establish research programmes
• Supervise all levels of postgraduate students and host post-doctoral fellows
• Establish institutional and national / international collaborations
• Provide academic leadership and contribute to mentorship of academic staff
• Participate in community engagement integrated with teaching and / or research
• Contribute to University service and participate in administrative duties at Departmental, Faculty and University levels.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Registration with a relevant professional accounting body
• At least 7 years' experience in higher education
• Extensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in Accounting
• A track record of international and national accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Associate Professor
• Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Masters and / or Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Associate Professor

• Evidence of successful external fundraising for research.
• Some standing as a scholar in a chosen area of research (e.g., NRF rating, keynote addresses / plenary lectures).
• Evidence of successfully hosting post-doctoral research fellows.

• Evidence of academic leadership and mentorship of early career academics
• Evidence of national and / or international collaboration
