After conducting regulatory and business strategy research, it seeks to hire a Director of Administration (Associates Partner) who will support and work with the investment team, including the Fund Administrators, in meeting the targets for the following funds : Active Capital Special Fund, Active Capital Infrastructure Fund, Active Capital Mining and Energy Fund, and Active Capital Healthcare Fund.
The role involves supporting portfolio company growth, capital raising, and operational strategy across the sub-region.
The responsibilities include :
Registering the respective funds and ensuring compliance with the requirements of Ghana, South Africa, and other relevant countries.
Supporting fund administrators in operational processes related to capital raising and investment strategies.
Managing business operations for portfolio companies and business development activities, including deal sourcing within the country and across the sub-region.
Developing new business strategies, providing turnaround strategies for portfolio companies, and sourcing new and existing businesses through platforms like Pitchbook and Aurigin, including M&A activities.
Providing strategic direction for the implementation of the E-Assist program, African Accelerator program for entrepreneurs, and cocoa buying companies, overseeing regional office operations.
Coordinating the regional Africa $1 billion investment campaign, focusing on business strategy, building partnerships, and stakeholder collaboration.
Leading due diligence and compliance processes for clients, sourcing legal and service support for local and international clients across Africa.
Preparing monthly and quarterly reports on operational and business progress for executive management review.
Supporting HR functions such as training, employee welfare, travel, events, and payroll services for regional operations.
Conducting primary industry data research aligned with the company's strategic focus.
Working with the investment head on capital raising strategies for the respective funds.
Engaging in M&A activities, including identifying acquisition targets, and supporting other activities as required by management and the advisory board.
Requirements :
The candidate must possess a degree in Financial Accounting, ACCA / CA South Africa / CA Ghana / CFA qualifications; a Master's degree is an advantage.
Expertise in financial management strategies, business valuation, and financial reporting is essential.
An understanding of the private equity industry, regulatory compliance, and M&A governance principles is required.
The candidate should be computer literate (Microsoft ), knowledgeable about IT operations, and familiar with the investment environment and capital raising processes.
Willingness to travel as needed, understanding of African business environments, and the ability to analyze complex business cases are also necessary.
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a multifaceted industry, preferably within private equity or investment banking, is required.
