The Asset Management team manages investment properties on behalf of third parties. This service includes strategic asset management of the existing property portfolio, appraising new property investment opportunities, implementing and managing new investments, and working with the development managers (on new projects) to deliver on transactions from both an investment and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) perspective.
This position is within the asset management department with the purpose of maintaining a leading edge in the formulation, delivery, and communication of the sustainability strategy and results across the business. The position will also work very closely with the Investment and Fund Management and Student Accommodation teams and other teams on ESG and investment sustainability matters.

ESG / sustainability policy:
Assessment of "best practice", preparation, drafting, and obtaining approvals of ESG policies and frameworks within the overall context of the business, for the Asset Management, Investment and Fund Management business and its associated funds as well as for the Group itself.
Developing appropriate ESG benchmarks and reporting to best practice.
The management of the implementation of the approved ESG policies, including the data collection, assessment, benchmarking, evaluation throughout the business operations.
Regular assessment, evaluation, and recommendations for improvement of the stated policies and mechanisms of the ESG and sustainability policies within the organisation's Asset Management and Investment and Fund Management businesses and across business operations.
Engage with internal and external partners to stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory changes related to ESG, contributing to the development and communication of ESG policies and initiatives.
Develop and communicate ESG practices and policies and ensure compliance.
Analysis and reporting:
Development, preparation, and management of ESG reports for the portfolios under management for purposes of compliance with strategic policies, regulatory framework, and shareholder/investor requirements.
Provide transparent, reliable, and measurable data about sustainable performance.
Assist with the development of processes to ensure efficient collection of ESG data from various sources for analysis and reporting.
Perform investment research and analysis, financial analysis, and financial modelling for new investments from an ESG perspective.
Track actions taken by the company to minimize ESG risks and environmental impacts.
Manage communication with stakeholders and others, address concerns from stakeholders and others on ESG issues, monitor and ensure that ESG initiatives and commitments are executed on time and to standard.
Where necessary, assist in other projects and investment feasibilities within asset management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Qualifications: BCom (Hons) or BSc Property Studies (Hons) or higher qualifications.
Experience - ESSENTIAL: Must have at least 3 years' experience in real estate and ESG strategy, reporting, and analysis, typically obtained in private equity, corporate finance, equities research, asset management, etc. Ideally having exposure to setting ESG policy and framework.
