Associate Manager - Funds and Corporate Services

The Associate Manager (AM) operates within our Financial Statements production unit based in South Africa. The primary responsibilities include preparing and technically reviewing our clients' financial statements, both globally and locally, onboarding new clients, and ensuring ongoing engagements are executed efficiently throughout the year. The AM should handle complex issues and manage large datasets effectively. Additionally, the AM will oversee junior staff and interact directly with clients and auditors to ensure the delivery of high-quality work in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Monthly Management Accounting:
   • Discuss client requirements and execute agreed tasks
   • Ensure client staff perform their duties effectively
   • Report progress to the Director
   • Add value to clients' systems and processes
2. Financial Statements Review:
   • Manage team to meet deadlines
   • Report issues to the Director
   • Review financial statements for compliance with reporting frameworks

Qualifications:

• CA (SA) in progress or completed (post articles)
• SAICA training contract completed
• Alternatively, 2+ years post-articles experience in a financial management role
• Experience in Financial Services industry

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and related frameworks
• US GAAP experience (bonus, especially in investment funds)

Computer Skills:

• MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• CaseWare
• SARS eFiling

Market Knowledge:

• Investment Funds
• Financial Statements (IFRS)

Management Experience:

• Leading teams in audit environments (CA)
• Managerial experience outside CA

Languages:

• English; Afrikaans is a plus but not required
