The Department of Sociology is one of the largest departments in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities as students enjoy the engaging topics and critical debates on contemporary social issues which characterises our programmes across the undergraduate and postgraduate levels of study. These programmes are designed to encourage students to develop their sociological imagination and apply social research methodological approaches towards understanding and addressing various social issues locally and further afield. Teaching in the Department of Sociology is informed by research as the academics are recognised experts in their respective fields of research and scholarship.
The Department is expanding its academic and research programmes and seeks to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to serve in the position of an Associate Lecturer. Candidates with quantitative research methodology skills and knowledge are especially encouraged to apply for this position.
