Assistant Store Manager - Faithful-to-Nature

Locations: Cavendish, Riverlands

This position is responsible for assisting in maximizing sales and ensuring the effective operation of all store activities. In the absence of the Store Manager, this position is responsible for meeting set sales objectives as well as projecting the company’s vision, mission, and image through effective customer service and visual presentation techniques. Assisting in planning and developing well-trained staff is a top priority, approached with a concise training program focusing on all aspects of store procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales and Customer Service
  • Ensure outstanding customer service by offering a friendly environment, including excellent product knowledge and adherence to Faithful to Nature’s standards.
  • Maximize store sales targets by modeling successful sales techniques and customer service standards with team members.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures through regular walk-throughs and audits.
  • Monitor local market conditions and business trends to maximize sales and meet or exceed goals.
  • Analyze sales performance and suggest new strategies to supervisors.
Merchandise and Inventory Management
  • Ensure the selling floor is well merchandised, with appropriate assortment and presentation.
  • Train team members on visual and marketing strategies.
  • Implement Head Office directives for markdowns, stock counts, etc., efficiently and timely.
Operating Cost Control & Profitability
  • Control wage costs by analyzing traffic trends, staff productivity, and scheduling.
  • Ensure proper opening and closing procedures, including banking practices.
  • Follow all POS and related systems accurately and consistently.
  • Protect store assets to control shrinkage.
Human Resources Management
  • Coach and motivate staff to meet high customer service standards by planning and monitoring daily goals.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and communicate effectively with staff.
  • Evaluate and maintain store productivity goals, addressing performance issues as needed.
  • Maintain professionalism and act as a leadership role model.
  • Coordinate between store staff and Head Office to ensure effective communication.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed and communicated.
  • Maintain employee files and process payroll and EFT accurately.
  • Perform other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 2-5 years FMCG or similar retail experience.
  • 1-2 years supervisory or assistant manager experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours/days.
  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Own reliable transport.
