Job description

An Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in their absence and assisting in maintaining company standards related to housekeeping, merchandising, shrinkage control, discipline, and security.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Banking of money
  2. Relieving the store manager
  3. Maintaining company standards of housekeeping, merchandising, shrinkage control, discipline, and security
  4. Ensuring compliance with all company procedures
  5. Assisting the store manager in staff management
  6. Ensuring front-end controls are in place
  7. Overseeing the cash office
  8. Minimizing stock loss
  9. Providing excellent customer service
  10. Introducing sales initiatives to reach store targets

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Matric / Grade 12 (Mathematics an advantage) or NQF Level 4
  • Previous experience managing people and departments
  • Previous clothing retail experience highly advantageous
