Job Description

Support and assist the store manager in managing the daily operations of a Mr Price Money Cellular store to ensure that overall objectives, store targets, and customer service standards are met and exceeded.

Responsibilities

Stock Management :

  • Ensure accurate receipt and unpacking of stock to merchandise and replenish the sales floor.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels through defined processes (stock counts, stock takes, stock loss action plans) to mitigate risks and ensure adequate stock on hand.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the stockroom to meet housekeeping standards.
  • Assist with authorizing write-offs, breakages, recalls, OBF (out of box failures), cellular repairs, and returns.

Sales Growth & Profitability :

  • Analyze sales and profitability reports to collaborate with management on operational action plans, increase sales performance, and monitor store expenditure.
  • Review in-store product performance and provide feedback to support centre to enhance sales.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales and brand awareness, including in-store marketing and competitor shopping.
  • Drive performance in credit, insurance, mobile, and cellular to meet budgets.
  • Assist in conducting compliance checks (admin checks, store audits, visual audits, COMO reports, POS reports, health & safety standards, security) to ensure policy adherence.

Customer Experience Management :

  • Implement customer experience processes through business instruction letters, markdowns, repricing, promotions, visual standards, feedback, and housekeeping to meet service standards.

Leadership & Development :

  • Lead the team to achieve store KPIs and operational strategies aligned with company values.
  • Identify and drive training, coaching, and development needs focusing on talent management and succession planning.
  • Recruit, manage performance, and administer staff in accordance with company policies.

Qualifications

  • NQF level 4 (Grade 12) or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of retail management experience.
  • Understanding of sales and service management.
  • Budgeting skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Understanding of retail trade, brand management, customer service, cellular, mobile, new accounts, and insurance products.
