Purpose of the Role

The Assistant Retail Store Manager will lead our team and drive the success of our Econofoods Retail Store. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of achieving sales targets, delivering exceptional customer service, and effectively managing store operations. Responsibilities include reducing risk and stock losses, maintaining world-class store standards, and ensuring business targets are met. The role involves overseeing all operational aspects of the store and empowering the team to reach and exceed business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive and promote sales by ensuring excellent customer service standards.
  • Maintain outstanding store standards following company merchandising standards, stock management, and presentation, including correct pricing.
  • Assist in stock receiving, stock counts, managing expiry dates, and stock condition.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team while fostering our Ho Hola Culture.
  • Manage cash operations, including float preparation, daily banking, and cashier support.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate team members to ensure high performance.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring hygiene and food safety standards are met.
  • Analyze sales data to identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Oversee store operations, including opening, closing, and security procedures.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and stakeholders.
