PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Retail Store Manager to lead our team and drive the success of our Econofoods Retail Store. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of achieving sales targets, delivering exceptional customer service, and effectively managing store operations. They should be capable of reducing risk and stock losses, and ensuring world-class store standards to meet business objectives. The Assistant Store Manager will oversee all operational aspects of the store and lead the team to reach and exceed goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Drive and promote sales by ensuring excellent customer service standards.
  2. Maintain outstanding store standards by following company merchandising standards, managing stock, and optimizing product availability and presentation with correct pricing.
  3. Assist in stock receiving, stock counts, managing expiry dates, and stock condition.
  4. Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team while supporting the company's Ho Hola Culture.
  5. Handle cash management, including preparing floats, daily banking, and cashier support.
  6. Train, coach, and evaluate team members' performance.
  7. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, hygiene standards, and food safety requirements.
  8. Analyze sales data to identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
  9. Oversee store operations, including opening/closing procedures and security.
  10. Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and stakeholders.
