Minimum Requirements
- Matric
- At least 2-3 years restaurant management experience
- Experience in Microsoft Office
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage a group of people
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of restaurant operations
Preferred: Applicants with more than 3 years restaurant management experience.
Preferred: Applicants with a valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Ensure correct and effective financial administration according to Nando’s policies & procedures daily.
- Assist in controlling expenditure and achieving expected gross profit margins (stock control, waste management, pilferage, etc).
- Assist in taking corrective actions to improve business performance indicators (Sales: Year on Year & Actual vs. Budget; Gross Profit; Ticket Average; Customer Count; Menu mix; Day parts; Complaints; Labour Turnover; Payroll vs. Turnover) daily.
- Monitor performance against set daily targets (Turnover, Ticket Average; Customer Count).
Operational Management
- Ensure efficient stock control management daily.
- Perform daily compliance checks related to Health & Safety, Repairs; Maintenance, Cleaning & Hygiene, escalating issues to the Restaurant Manager.
- Assist in developing corrective action plans to improve audit results.
- Communicate and ensure compliance with Nando’s operational standards and requirements.
People Management
- Assist in developing and monitoring weekly rosters to meet business needs and ensure adherence to opening and closing procedures.
- Assist with recruitment, induction, and training of new staff according to policies and procedures.
- Complete and check attendance registers.
- Assist in ensuring adherence to disciplinary policies.
- Escalate poor performance and provide ongoing feedback to staff and the Restaurant Manager.
- Ensure staff are signed off on relevant training materials and procedures.
Marketing Management
- Assist with communication and execution of marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Respond to customer complaints following Nando’s policies.
- Assist in developing corrective actions based on mystery shopper reports.
- Assist with executing local marketing plans to promote sales and increase customer base.
- Fulfill responsibilities of the Restaurant Manager in their absence.
