Job Title: Assistant Restaurant Manager

Location: Cape TownType: Full-TimeSalary: R18,000 – R23,000 (dependent on experience)

About the Role

An iconic and elegant hospitality establishment in Cape Town is seeking a dedicated and experiencedAssistant Restaurant Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations, upholding service excellence, and supporting the Restaurant Manager in leading a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that all company policies, procedures, and SOPs are adhered to

  • Promote effective communication by attending and participating in regular staff meetings

  • Plan, direct, and control the department, including staff rostering

  • Supervise staff effectively and ensure high service standards

  • Conduct and oversee stocktakes

  • Identify training needs and assist with implementation

  • Monitor and manage sales and beverage stock, in collaboration with the F&B Controller

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of menu items, specials, and seasonal offerings

  • Ensure uniform standards are upheld and staff are well-presented at all times

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a similar, high-paced hospitality environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail, with strong initiative and interpersonal skills

  • Reliable, trustworthy, and responsible individual

  • Professional, well-spoken, and presentable

  • Guest-centric mindset with a passion for service

  • Ability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays

  • Upholds a strong sense of integrity, acting in the best interest of the business
