Qualifications

Job description

This position is site specific for the duration of the project.

Formal Education:

  • Degree or National Diploma in Civil Engineering

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience after Qualification
  • Road design and/or Construction monitoring experience critical

Registration:

  • Candidate Engineer, Candidate Technologist or Candidate Technician with the Engineering Council of SA (ECSA)
  • Experience with COTO (COLTO)

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring of the Construction Works in accordance with the Project Specifications, COTO and FIDIC;
  • Auditing Contractors compliance to Contract Participation Goals;
  • Auditing Site safety measures: Supervisory staff and Contractor;
  • Attend to Site and Technical meetings and preparing minutes;
  • Maintenance of daily site diary;
  • Monitor and assess survey data;
  • Monitor and assess all test results and attend to other quality control matters;
  • Measurement of quantities and verification of the Contractors monthly payment certificates;
  • Review, assess, record and monitor traffic accommodation measures and incidents;
  • Preparing budgets and cashflows;
  • Preparing Works Authorisations;
  • Programme and expenditure control;
  • Attend and minute work schedule meetings with Contractor;
  • Preparing of site instructions and site memorandums;
  • Assist with the preparation and compilation of the Contract Report;
  • Attend to meetings with Community structures such as Public Liaison Committees;
  • Any other reasonable request.
