Assistant Professor of Practice/Reference Librarian, Nursing Online Library Specialist

JOB SUMMARY
The University Library at Purdue University Northwest invites applications for a non-tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor of Practice level for a nursing librarian. The position will support strategic focus areas of the University Library and the College of Nursing.

The successful candidate will work closely with both the College of Nursing and the University Library to offer instruction sessions for both in-person and online nursing students at the Hammond and Westville campuses. This may involve co-teaching with nursing faculty, one-on-one research sessions with students and faculty, and assisting faculty to design curricula to assist the College of Nursing. The university’s procedures for appointing and promoting clinical faculty apply to this position.

Qualifications

  • MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited program or a terminal degree in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an academic environment

Desirable Skills

  • Teaching experience
