Job description

We are recruiting a dedicated Assistant Production Manager to assist in managing production processes to ensure that optimal efficiencies of materials, equipment, and labour are achieved.

Implement and drive continuous improvement through active coordination and management of the production team and its activities to ensure OTIF delivery of quality products.

Responsibilities:
  1. To plan, coordinate and manage day-to-day production activities effectively to deliver daily targets.
  2. To ensure that Food Safety and Quality Standards are adhered to at all times and remedial action is taken when required (cGMP, BRC, HACCP, ISO, TGA, etc).
  3. Facilitate continuous improvement and the optimization of processes through resource and facility planning and utilization.
  4. To ensure compliance with all Safety, Health and hygiene legislative requirements and company policies and procedures.
  5. To monitor costs to ensure operation within budget and to maximise investment and utilization of resources.
Requirements:
  1. Advanced Diploma / Degree in Production Management / Operations management is essential.
  2. An additional Engineering: Industrial / Mechanical / Electrical qualification would be advantageous.
  3. Previous middle management experience in production in a FMCG environment and/or technical experience in production machinery and processes is essential.
  4. Proven Project Management and Continuous Improvement processes and implementation experience.
  5. Deep insight into production processes, quality standards and relevant legislation (OSH Act, BCEA, EE, and SD).

High quality, safety, and results focus. Excellent communication and time management skills.
