Responsibilities
Brief Role Description
The Assistant Portfolio Analyst is responsible for tracking and analyzing market trends, industry requirements, customer and future-oriented requirements of the product range, drafting and maintaining competitor cycle plans and providing support for cross-divisional projects inputs to assist decision-making of relevant products for the region in a timely manner.
Possible Tasks within this Role
- Identify and understand product white spots by analyzing market potential to provide product recommendations for region Africa.
- Analyzing global market and product trends and compiling assessable reports.
- Support the portfolio analyst by creating and maintaining competitor cycle-plans through desktop research and analysis to support the company’s cycle plan development.
- Review and track open tasks and deadlines from cross divisional meetings.
- Prepare premise documents for product strategy cross-divisional evaluations.
- Support in preparing project documents for company decision forums (i.e VAP, milestones and board presentations).
- Compiling cross divisional feedback on impacts of decisions from the cross- divisional meetings, to support mitigating risks.
- Running of cross-functional, working level teams to obtain divisional inputs when required.
- Supporting the portfolio analyst in convening project team meetings.
- Drafting of meeting agendas and minutes and distributing to the broader team.
- Supporting the portfolio analyst with the required deliverables to achieve the company’s strategic goals.
Qualifications
- 3-year tertiary qualification (Marketing, Finance or Engineering discipline)
Experience
- 2 years project management experience
Requirements
- Desktop and practical research experience
- Experience in preparing documents for decisions
- Experience in working with cross divisional teams
- An understanding of cars and their manufacturing processes is beneficial
- Knowledge and an understanding of the automotive industry
- Practical on the job project management experience
- The ability to analyse complex problems and making proposals for their resolution
- Fluency in English
- The ability to prepare professional, comprehensive presentations for decision making at Board level
- Advanced Microsoft office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to plan and organize
- Good interpersonal skills (negotiation and communication)
