Hire Resolve is currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Occupational Hygiene Officer to join our client’s team in the mining industry. As an Assistant Occupational Hygiene Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Occupational Hygiene team in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.

Responsibilities :

• Conduct workplace assessments to identify health hazards.
• Monitor environmental conditions such as air quality and temperature.
• Collect and analyze data to identify trends and risks.
• Implement control measures to mitigate health risks.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports.
• Support and deliver hygiene training for employees.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with health and safety teams and other stakeholders.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend safety measures.
• Assist in emergency response planning and incidents.
• Provide technical support on occupational hygiene and PPE selection.

Requirements :

• National Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Health, or related field.
• Certification in Occupational Hygiene (., SAIOH) is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational hygiene or related field, preferably in the mining industry.
• Knowledge of South African occupational health and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in using occupational hygiene monitoring equipment and software.
