Job Title: Assistant Manager - Performance Audit Pretoria

Location: Gauteng, Pretoria | Deadline: September 07, 2025

Audit Responsibilities
  1. Conduct research to identify new audit focus areas.
  2. Perform environmental scanning of the client base to inform value-added and integrated audits.
  3. Discuss focus areas with the RA teams to secure additional audit work for the Business Unit.
  4. Develop audit plans and procedures for identified focus areas.
  5. Execute audits, source and analyze data, including data analytics.
  6. Critically analyze evidence, identify management gaps, root causes, and impacts on service delivery.
  7. Prepare findings with practical recommendations addressing root causes.
  8. Discuss audit findings with external stakeholders to verify accuracy.
  9. Maintain detailed working papers, including objectives, procedures, findings, and conclusions.
  10. Draft management reports supported by audit evidence.
  11. Ensure high-quality audit work within stipulated timeframes.
  12. Collaborate with integrated audit teams and provide guidance to non-audit staff.
  13. Manage project milestones, budgets, and timelines efficiently.
  14. Provide progress feedback to managers and address coaching notes.
  15. Participate in audit committee and steering meetings.
People Management
  1. Mentor and develop performance analysts through on-the-job coaching.
  2. Manage staff hours and monitor performance.
  3. Allocate work and lead the team to ensure smooth workflow.
Stakeholder Engagement
  1. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on audit issues.
  2. Assist the audit team in engaging with auditee contacts for documentation.
  3. Prepare documentation for stakeholder meetings.
  4. Promote the value of performance audits and share insights regularly with business units.
Financial and Administrative Responsibilities
  1. Contribute to the budget planning process, including identifying value-add areas.
  2. Monitor team recoverability and resource utilization to meet budget targets.
  3. Complete administrative tasks such as timesheets, expense claims, leave, and compliance declarations.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Registered CA (SA), RGA, ACCA, or CIA.
  • Mandatory registration with a relevant professional body.
  • At least 4 years of experience in an auditing environment, preferably in accounting or financial services.
