Job summary

A leading automotive company in Durban is seeking an HR professional to provide guidance and support on HR policies, manage recruitment processes, and build strong relationships with management and employees. The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification and at least 2 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with a solid understanding of labour legislation. This position offers an opportunity to innovate and drive HR initiatives in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years relevant HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of Labour Legislation is advantageous.
  • Relevant Experience in general HR management including Recruitment & Selection, Industrial Relations.
  • Advanced computer literacy is essential.

Overview

PURPOSE OF THE JOB :

HR Services is looking for a candidate with a passion for people, analytics, and customer service to join the team. The successful incumbent will need to have the drive, energy, and technical ability to efficiently manage and influence a fast-paced environment. This individual must have strong knowledge of HR principles and practices with the ability to practice judgment, forward-thinking, and strategy to solve problems and develop transformational HR initiatives quickly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advice to line managers regarding the conduct and misconduct management processes.
  • Provide advice and information to management and employees on HR policies and procedures.
  • Advise management and employees on work matters, career development, personal problems, and industrial matters.
  • Attend to internal IR matters at plant level.
  • Ensure that the Resourcing process is adhered to, and jobs are timeously advertised on Success Factors and tracked.
  • Manage and conduct interviews with Line Managers, selection tests and make recommendations.
  • Manage terminations and exit interviews.
  • Headcount Management at plant level
  • Administration of employees with restrictions and general ill-health management.
  • Manage updating of HR information and data into the relevant systems and assure the integrity of the data.
  • Manage HR administrative tasks.
  • Effective communication and the ability to build strong relationships with management, the union, and employees.
  • Cross-functional engagement with various stakeholders
Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant NQF 5 (240 Credits) Degree / Diploma in Human Resources Management or Industrial Psychology
  • Minimum 2 years relevant HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Good understanding of Labour Legislation (Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Employment Equity Act and Skills Development Act) will be advantageous.
  • Relevant Experience in general HR management including Recruitment & Selection, Industrial Relations, Employment Equity, Succession, Retention and Career planning, Performance management and Manpower planning.
  • Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite) is essential.
  • SAP experience is preferable.
