Job summary

Apex Group in Cape Town seeks an Assistant Manager in the Alternative Asset Services Division to oversee client portfolio administration and accounting, and to mentor junior team members. Working closely with the lead relationship manager and Director, you will ensure high-quality service across all client portfolios.

You will coordinate NAV planning and reporting, manage statutory and management reporting, and liaise with auditors.

Qualifications

• CA(S) or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum one year post articles experience.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the fund industry.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulatory requirements.
• Fund accounting experience will be an advantage.
• Private Debt, Capital Markets, Real Assets or Private Equity knowledge will be a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage a client portfolio including administration & overseeing the accounting aspects.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, some pursuing professional qualifications.
• Coordinate NAV planning, coordination and completion with Manager/Director.
• Prepare and manage statutory and management reporting for entities including listings.
• Act as contact with auditors for planning and coordination of audits.
• Ensure reporting complies with local law, GAAP/IFRS and other reporting principals.
