Job description

Annually Cost To Company (Market related)

Our client is a prestigious global trading and investment company with a diverse business portfolio spanning across multiple industries. With a rich heritage and strong presence in Africa, their regional branch serves as a key hub for operations on the African continent.

Our client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Assistant Manager to join their Accounting Department. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing accounting functions for the main regional branch, a neighboring country branch, and two subsidiary companies, working within a small, dedicated team of three staff members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Accounting: Prepare entries for assets, liabilities, and capital accounts through comprehensive compilation and analysis. Generate financial status reports including balance sheets and profit and loss statements. Audit financial transactions and documentation. Design appropriate financial systems.
  • Tax Management: Perform tax computations and handle revenue authority queries. Review tax assessments. Verify VAT returns. Support transfer pricing documentation. Prepare annual Country by Country reporting.
  • Financial Operations: Liaise with banking partners regarding annual facilities. Ensure full compliance with Reserve Bank Regulations and Exchange Control. Manage foreign currency transactions. Oversee cash flow for the neighboring country branch.
  • Additional Duties: Prepare management reports. Provide management accounting to relevant stakeholders. Handle various ad hoc financial duties as required.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
  • Qualifications: B.Com degree (essential). Professional qualification as CA and/or CMA (highly desirable). Candidates with Matric or Diploma currently studying towards CA/CMA will be considered.
  • Experience & Skills: 3-5 years of working experience in accounting. Strong presentation abilities. Logical thinking and analytical approach. Excellent team collaboration and communication skills. Advanced mathematical aptitude. Proficient IT skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint. Availability for occasional international travel.
BENEFITS PACKAGE

In addition to a competitive base salary (R35,000 – R43,000), our client offers:

REPORTING STRUCTURE

This position reports directly to the General Manager of the Middle Eastern Accounting Department, offering excellent visibility and development opportunities.
