Description

Our client, the largest private fuel retailer in the country based in Port Elizabeth, is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join their team.

This position is located 30 kilometres outside PE.

Salary: R9,000 CTC per month.

Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Maintaining full menu knowledge, including all main and limited menu items, ensuring these are served according to company specifications.
  2. Possessing full coffee knowledge and bar training across all areas.
  3. Having comprehensive retail knowledge, including items available, pricing, suppliers, merchandising, stock levels, and ordering processes.
  4. Understanding the company's roots and history.
  5. Managing the kitchen operations, including preparation of recipes, prep items, and menu items, with the ability to prepare all items following recipes.
  6. Having knowledge of baked goods, with signed-off Level 2 baking training.
  7. Understanding ordering procedures for bread, cakes, fruits, vegetables, and handling bar orders including coffee, tea, alcohol, soft drinks, and miscellaneous items. Occasionally overseeing and executing orders on Mondays and Thursdays.
  8. Applying knowledge of GAAP for invoice capturing, management reports, stock-takes, cash-up procedures, and generating reports from Back Office systems.
  9. Ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant, managing staff duties, resolving issues efficiently, and maintaining customer satisfaction. Capable of performing any staff member's duties if needed.
  10. Managing rostering and staffing, especially for bar, FOH, kitchen, and other departments, with the ability to create efficient staff rosters.
  11. Dealing with customers professionally, handling complex complaints such as incorrect orders, cold food, poor service, or food poisoning.
  12. Running the restaurant on a daily basis in the absence of the GM.
  13. Ensuring adherence to hygiene and safety policies.
  14. Maintaining cleanliness standards throughout the restaurant at all times.
