Description

TheAssistant Managerrole involves monitoring and controlling the service as delivered by their team of Senior Fund Accountants and Fund Accountants throughout the contract with the client, to ensure that:

  • Identify the training and development needs of his/herteam.
  • Mentor teammembers.
  • Perform a thorough review of valuations up to the final sign-offstage.
  • Ensure service levels are maintained and
  • Liaise with clients and assist with the implementation of new processes and procedures

  • Planning and controlling team workload andworkflow.
  • Provide informal on the job training for teammembers.
  • Liaise with the other departments in respect of issues affecting the output of the supervisor’steam.
  • Ensure that Accounting and Valuations procedures are correctly followed by the team under theirsupervision.
  • Ensure that Net Asset Value calculations are prepared in a timely, efficient and accuratemanner.
  • Review valuations up to final sign-offstage.
  • Ensure that valuation reports are sent to clients within agreeddeadlines.
  • Provide fund auditors with the required information and explanations asrequested.
  • Suggest and implement valuation procedure and process improvements;Ensure that all filing for the section is kept up to date and is performed in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Responsible for FundAccounting.
  • Manualsexcel NAV file verification roll forward.
  • Security position and pricereview.
  • Cash and interestreconciliation.
  • Reporting.
  • 3rd Partyvalidation.
  • Calculation of income distribution and

Skills Required:

  • Commerce degree or diploma with at least Financial Accounting2;
  • At least 5 years’ relatedexperience.
  • Proficient in MSExcel.
  • Hedge fund industry knowledge.
  • Necessary management and interpersonal skills to manage a team of fundaccountants.
  • Thorough knowledge of the fund valuation process and all elementsthereof.
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy in order to review valuations and ensure a high level of quality in the output of the Accounting and Valuationsfunction.
  • Effective time management skills to achievedeadlines.
  • A high level of problem-solving skills and
