Job description

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Maitre'd in overseeing the daily operations of the dining room, including managing reservations, seating arrangements, and service flow onboard the cruise ship

- Train, coach, and supervise dining room staff to ensure high-quality service standards are met

- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the dining room, ensuring it meets company standards

- Respond to guest inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner, resolving any issues that may arise

- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth coordination between the kitchen and dining room

- Assist in creating and implementing new menu items, promotions, and special events to enhance the dining experience for guests

- Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations

- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the safety of guests and staff

- Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling, payroll, and budget management

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role in a fine dining restaurant or luxury hotel

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong leadership and team management skills

- Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including wine and cocktail service

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- Attention to detail and a commitment to providing exceptional service

- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

- Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus
