Assistant Financial Manager (Qualified Chartered Accountant) :

  • Our client, a prominent manufacturing company located in Johannesburg Central, is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Manager to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will be a qualified CA(SA) with 2–3 years of post-articles experience, ideally within the manufacturing sector.

Minimum Requirements :

  • 2-3 years’ post Article experience.
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant [CA(SA)].
  • Bcom Honors in Accounting or CTA Qualification.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS).
  • Audit proficiency and sound understanding of risk and controls.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, analysis, and internal controls.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial ERP systems.
  • Must have own vehicle and a valid Driver’s License.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Prepare, analyse, and present monthly financial results to senior management.
  • Monitor and manage daily, monthly, and long-term cash flow requirements.
  • Conduct strategic financial analysis to support decision-making and business planning.
  • Identify and implement improvements in financial systems and processes.
  • Perform and review reconciliations of all key balance sheet accounts.
  • Engage in product costing and provide actionable insights to enhance cost efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, IFRS, and company policies and procedures.
  • Support the Financial Director in audit preparation and statutory reporting.
  • Maintain accurate and complete accounting records for all entities.
  • Lead the preparation and management of the annual budgeting process.
  • Investigate and resolve balance sheet discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accurate application of IFRS across all financial reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements and audit readiness.
  • Analyse stock variances based on monthly stock counts and drive resolution.
  • Maintain and manage the fixed asset register, ensuring proper asset control and recording.
