Qualifications

  • Support the Financial Manager and act in their absence.
  • Implement and maintain effective financial controls.
  • Continuously analyze current financial systems for improvements.
  • Manage payroll administration including contracts, pay runs, and reconciliations.
  • Process financial transactions and prepare financial statements.
  • Assist with ad-hoc client-focused projects as needed.

Job description

Our client, a reputable and well-established company based in Bloemfontein, is seeking to appoint an Assistant Financial Manager. This is a key role for an experienced and driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a solid background in finance and team collaboration.

Minimum requirements :

Registered AGA(SA)

Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience in :

Management

Financial statements

Payroll

Proficient in Pastel, Sage VIP and Excel

Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

Able to perform under pressure and manage deadlines effectively

Key Responsibilities :

Work closely with the Financial Manager and provide full support, including acting in their absence

Implement and maintain effective financial controls to reduce risk and improve productivity

Continuously analyse current financial systems and suggest improvements for efficiency

Uphold the highest level of confidentiality at all times

Promote strong teamwork and maintain excellent relationships with staff and clients to support shared goals

Take responsibility for the following areas :

Payroll administration (contracts, pay runs, SDL, EMP201 / 501, Employment Equity, reconciliations, etc.)

Creditors

Processing financial transactions

Preparation of financial statements

Tax compliance (VAT, Income Tax, Dividend Tax)

Assist with ad-hoc client-focused projects and other reasonable financial tasks as needed
