We’re partnering with an innovative business in the telecoms and tech space that’s looking for an experienced Assistant Financial Manager to support the Head of Finance and help drive financial accuracy, compliance, and performance.

You’ll play a key role in managing the day-to-day finance function, supporting reporting cycles, and providing insight that helps guide business decisions. Perfect for someone who’s hands-on, solutions-focused, and eager to grow into a leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly management accounts
  • Assist in drafting annual financial statements
  • Analyse financial performance, variances, and trends
  • Support board pack preparation and executive-level reporting

Operational Finance

  • Oversee full AP/AR function
  • Reconcile balance sheets, bank statements, and general ledgers
  • Ensure accurate invoicing, collections, and payment cycles
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure full compliance with IFRS, tax legislation, and audit requirements
  • Liaise with external auditors and support audit processes
  • Assist with VAT, PAYE, and tax submissions

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Guide and mentor junior finance team members
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and commercial teams
  • Identify areas for cost-saving and process optimisation

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting (SAICA/SAIPA articles a plus)
  • 5+ years in a finance role, ideally in telecoms or tech
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, tax, and audit compliance
  • Solid ERP system experience
  • Analytical mindset with great communication and leadership skills
