The Role :

A well-regarded hospitality group with operations across multiple venues is seeking a detail-driven and highly organised assistant finance manager to join their Cape Town-based head office team.

In this dynamic role, you will support senior finance leadership by managing daily financial functions, contributing to strategic decision-making, and ensuring that all reporting, budgeting, and compliance standards are consistently met.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and reporting processes
  • Proven ability to conduct financial planning, analysis, and forecasting
  • Skilled in using financial tools and accounting software, including Xero, Dext, and Payspace Advantage
  • Highly organised with excellent time management abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Capable of working both independently and within a collaborative team structure
  • Previous exposure to the hospitality industry will be advantageous

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
  • Support senior finance in strategic planning and decision-making
  • Manage budgeting and assist with variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls
  • Supervise the bookkeeper and oversee accurate transaction recording
  • Liaise with auditors and assist in audit processes
  • Deliver regular financial reporting and forecasts for operational review
