Assistant Factory Manager - Randburg

Qualifications Required:
  1. Grade 12 or NQF level 4 is essential.
  2. Qualification in chemistry, Bachelor's or associate degree, with coursework in production management, operations management, or similar.
  3. Previous experience working in the cosmetic industry is preferred.
  4. Ability to confidently and proactively supervise production teams.
  5. 5-10 years of formulation, lab, or cosmetic production experience.
  6. Exceptional analytical ability for solving production-related concerns.
  7. Knowledge of procuring materials, equipment, and labor needed throughout the production process.
  8. Proficiency in quality control, managing budgets, and production costing.
  9. Competence with computer-based administration, record-keeping, and procurement systems.
  10. Ability to work independently under the Factory Manager, and as part of a production team.
  11. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for managing human resources and liaising with other departments.
  12. Availability to work extended hours to meet deadlines, when necessary.
  13. Excellent leadership skills, including team and shift planning.
  14. Knowledge of ISO and GMP standards.
Responsibilities:
  1. Developing and implementing strategies to streamline factory operations.
  2. Analyzing production data to identify and resolve issues.
  3. Preparing production reports for decision-makers.
  4. Inspecting finished products to ensure quality standards.
  5. Reviewing and auditing production processes for improvements.
  6. Assisting in managing the factory effectively and overseeing R&D of new products.
  7. Ensuring production goals are met and managing staff motivation.
  8. Managing production schedules and liaising with suppliers for raw materials.
  9. Overseeing maintenance and repair of equipment.
  10. Maintaining production reports and documentation.
  11. Implementing quality control measures and managing budgets.
  12. Facilitating communication between departments and organizing staff training.
  13. Conducting daily inspections for hygiene and safety standards.
  14. Monitoring production targets, identifying bottlenecks, and resolving issues promptly.
