LOCATION: PRETORIA POSITION TYPE: 12 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT
PURPOSE:
To promote South Africa and Africa's participation in the European Union Funding Programmes and networks, which will leverage international resources to strengthen science, technology and innovation capacities and maintain strategic partnerships.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A tertiary qualification at NQF level 7 in International Relations, Public Administration, or a Scientific related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 2 years in a scientific field, public administration, or international relations, with international events management experience and understanding.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
SA participation in competitive EU funding programmes.
Organising logistics for local and international activities to raise awareness on EU programmes and the Company support instruments (venue booking, invitation and managing the RSVPs, packaging of all required event materials).
Coordination of the logistics for the South African National Contact Point (NCP) Network. Support the facilitation of access to international knowledge, capacities, and resources the Company.
Facilitate participation in international leveraging opportunities for South African students participating in international training programmes.
Assist with the facilitation of dedicated capacity building initiatives for international cooperation specifically targeting Historically Disadvantaged Institutions and individuals (HDIs).
Management of the logistics leading to strategic international technical exchanges such as workshops, policy dialogues, seminars, and/or training programmes to reinforce STI capacities.
Assist in facilitating the strengthening of STI projects or events co-funded or supported in-kind by the Company and other African partners.
