Position : Assistant Diesel Technicians Company : General Heavy Marine (Pty)Ltd Location : Cape Town We are looking for Assistant Diesel Technicians, to join our Durban branch reporting to Operations Manager. Technicians are required to ensure customers are supplied with quality service, maintenance and repairs. Technicians will be working on port machinery such as Forklifts, reach stacker etc. Duties and Responsibilities

• Repairing, servicing and conducting maintenance of heavy machinery (such as forklifts, empty container handlers, bulldozers etc.)
• Performing initial visual inspections.
• Performing preventative Maintenance.
• Trouble-shooting systems and equipment.
• Adhering to deadlines and targets.
• Ensuring safety is adhered to in all tasks.
• Daily reporting of breakdowns to senior technician and on relevant group chats.
• Completion of job cards and providing feedback to operations manager in writing Requirements
• Mechanical certification and trade test or relevant qualification is required.
• Driver’s License
• At least 1—2 years working experience in a similar field.
• Ability to follow health and safety regulations.
• Familiarity with technical concepts, port machinery and operating systems.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics. Skills
