We currently have a number of casual opportunities for Catering Assistants to join our hospital team based in Waratah. Previous catering or similar experience, flexibility, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with knowledge of food preparation and food safety is desirable; however, we are very willing to train interested candidates new to the industry.

To be considered for this role, our ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate:

• Previous hospital and/or aged care Catering Assistant experience or the genuine desire to learn
• Ability and desire to work within the site-based Mental Health Centre
• Ability to prepare and serve food items in accordance with strict food safety guidelines
• Demonstrated knowledge of hygiene standards and Workplace Health and Safety
• Ability to work unsupervised (following site-based training)
• Commitment to respond to customer requests in a timely and friendly manner
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
• A discreet and respectful manner
• High level of personal presentation and hygiene
• Flexibility to work shifts during the weekdays and weekends

In line with the required legislation, a valid and current criminal record check along with a staff health clearance will be required as part of the standard recruitment and selection process for this position.
