Qualifications

Job description

  • Boiler learner must follow safety procedures and regulations to ensure safe operations of the boilers and associated systems.
  • Responsible for the housekeeping /maintenance of the boiler ad associated auxiliaries.
  • Learner will work under the supervision of Senior Boiler Operator team, and follow their instructions as when required.
  • Learner will have to maintain various product storage tanks and report any deviations to Boiler Operators on shift.
  • Learner will be responsible to loading and offloading sodium and chemicals for process.
  • Participate in the formal training plan for the learner ship; make reasonable progress to achieve the competencies in this regard; attend the necessary training or assessments related hereto.
  • Perform duties required and make reasonable progress to achieve the competencies in the training plan.
  • To attend any training or assessment related to the boiler training plan. (Shukela Training Centre) approximately 8 weeks theoretical and regulations.
  • Keep the training record up to date, and produce it to the employer and/or training organisation, when requested.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, work instructions, guidelines, regulations / legislation and programs & proactive action to identify and correct potential unsafe conditions and acts.
  • Must be able to work on a rotational shift roster after 3 months’ probation, if the candidate declare competency.
