Qualifications

  • 13 years accounting experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in Accounts Payable reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Experience in fixed/intangible asset management is advantageous.

  • Capture all invoices and ensure correct postings.
  • Bill transaction volumes and ensure timely receipt of funds.
  • Record all intangible, fixed, domain, and trademark asset transactions.
  • Prepare income statements and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual audit files and SOX compliance.
  • Perform general administration and process testing.

As an Assistant Accountant, you'll support the delivery of financial operations and assist with areas such as debtors and creditors functions, including accruals, maintaining asset registers, performing reconciliations with variance commentary, and other ad hoc duties within the Finance team. This will help us excel at providing accurate and useful financial information to stay ahead of the game.

What you'll be doing

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creditors Function: Capture all invoices, ensure correct postings by product, region, platform, brand, and in alignment with agreements or prior billing. Perform vendor reconciliations and resolve queries. Prepare biweekly payments, match vendor invoices and payments in Navision / Business Cloud (BC). Create new vendors and obtain proof of bank details for changes or new vendors. Run vendor open items reports weekly and provide commentary for long outstanding items.
  • Debtors Function: Bill transaction volumes and related fees to relevant entities, ensuring correct postings. Ensure timely receipt of funds. Match customer invoices and payments in Navision.
  • Asset Management: Record all intangible, fixed, domain, and trademark asset transactions, including additions and disposals. Run monthly amortization and depreciation. Reconcile asset registers to the general ledger.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare income statements and balance sheet reconciliations with relevant commentary, including open items, opex, prepayments, marketing, etc.
  • Audit & Corporate Governance: Assist with quarterly and annual audit files, provide audit evidence, communicate with auditors, and ensure SOX compliance.
  • Financial Staffing: Work effectively as part of the team, communicate clearly at all levels, and escalate potential problems timely.
  • Ad Hoc Duties: Draft process notes, archive financial information, assist with process testing, and perform general administration.
