Job description

A property specialist credit fund company is looking to employ an Assistant Accountant.

The ideal candidate will have an operational mindset, be highly organized, driven, and able to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist the Accountant with full accounting functions, including income statements and balance sheets, up to trial balance for multiple companies.
  2. Process monthly journal entries and daily cashbook entries on Pastel.
  3. Maintain the General Ledger, ensuring accuracy and integrity of accounts.
  4. Prepare journals, accruals, and adjustments.
  5. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  6. Review inter-company recharges and transactions.
  7. Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and schedules.
  8. Manage cashbook, cash management daily, and bank reconciliations for multiple entities.
  9. Handle full debtors and creditors functions.
  10. Assist with audits and independent reviews for all group companies.
  11. Liaise with the credit team, assist in monthly accounting, and track loans.
  12. Coordinate with stakeholders such as attorneys, banks, municipalities, vendors, etc.
  13. Assist with VAT/Tax administration, liaising with accountants and tax practitioners.
  14. Manage compliance with CIPC, FICA, NHBRC regulations.
  15. Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant accounting experience in finance or property development industries.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office and advanced Excel skills, with previous Pastel experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with various stakeholders effectively.
