Job description

Clover is looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join the Finance team.

The ideal candidate must have solid accounting knowledge, experience in financial accounting, and advanced Excel skills. The successful individual will manage the completion of the Cash Book function, oversee bank vendor approval processes, review, and approve vendor applications.

Requirements
  • NATIONAL DIPLOMA / DEGREE OR EQUIVALENT
  • Relevant experience applying job-related concepts, techniques, and processes at the required level

Responsibilities
  • Manage all cashbooks
  • Review and authorize cashbook transactions daily to ensure correct ledger allocations
  • Review and authorize cashbook payments daily for accuracy and validity
  • Review and authorize bank EFTs (ABSA, FNB) and weekly pay run payments
  • Prepare and review monthly bank account reconciliations
  • Handle ad-hoc functions and projects as required by the finance team or business
  • Manage bank vendor approval process and review vendor applications daily
  • Prepare deliverables for ad-hoc projects
  • Assist Business Units with query resolution and provide training on the One Time Supplier Payments platform
  • Assist with administration of Business Units' E-wallet cards
