About the Role

Our client, a major operator in the Oil & Gas sector , is seeking a meticulous and proactive Asset Integrity Engineer to join their team. This role is essential for ensuring the long-term reliability, safety, and compliance of our critical infrastructure. Located in Benoni, Gauteng , you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for asset integrity management, including inspection, maintenance, and risk assessment of pipelines, processing facilities, and related equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background with expertise in materials science, corrosion control, non-destructive testing (NDT), and risk-based inspection (RBI) methodologies. We are looking for an individual dedicated to upholding the highest standards of asset integrity and operational safety within the Benoni area.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive asset integrity management (AIM) strategies and programs.
• Oversee inspection and maintenance activities for critical assets, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
• Conduct risk-based assessments (RBI) to prioritize inspection and maintenance efforts.
• Monitor and manage corrosion control programs and materials selection for assets.
• Specify and oversee the application of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
• Analyze inspection data and equipment performance to identify potential failures and recommend preventive actions.
• Investigate equipment failures and integrity-related incidents, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure assets are fit for service.
• Maintain accurate records of asset condition, inspection history, and integrity-related activities.
• Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations pertinent to asset integrity in the Oil & Gas industry .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in asset integrity, mechanical integrity, or a related engineering role, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry .
• Strong understanding of corrosion mechanisms, materials science, and failure analysis.
• Proficiency in risk-based inspection (RBI) principles and methodologies.
• Experience with various non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.
• Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple projects.
• Willingness to conduct site visits as necessary within the Benoni region.
