A leading financial services provider is seeking a Claims Assessor in Bellville to improve operational excellence in insurance claims. You will assess non-medical claims, ensure validity of documents, and engage with stakeholders. Ideal candidates have at least one year of relevant experience and a Grade 12 Certificate. Purpose Statement

To improve claims operational excellence, increase customer satisfaction, minimize losses for Capitec Insurance through accurate and holistic assessment of all types of insurance non-medical claims (life, funeral and death), in accordance with terms and conditions of the respective policy/ies, legislative frameworks and goals, objectives, processes and standards sets by Capitec.

Please note: This is a pipeline advert intended to attract potential candidates for future opportunities. Applications will be considered as part of a talent pool for upcoming vacancies.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1-year practical experience in funeral and/or life insurance claims assessment or funeral/life insurance claims administration.

Qualifications (Minimum)

  • Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational

Qualifications (Ideal Or Preferred)

  • A relevant qualification in Healthcare or Science

Knowledge

Minimum

  • Understanding of the long-term insurance industry and claims handling processes, including the disability landscape
  • Knowledge of Funeral and Life Products
  • Knowledge of relevant legal framework relating to funeral and life insurance claims

Ideal

  • Knowledge or practical experience on assessment of Credit Life Insurance products, especially retrenchments and death Claims.
  • Occupational certificate or course on long-term life Insurance Claims Assessment

What will you be doing

Non-Medical Claims Assessment

  • Verify the completeness and validity of claim documents.
  • Assess non-medical claims accurately and make decisions within agreed turnaround times, ensuring high quality and productivity standards.
  • Identify and escalate risks, including fraudulent claims, in line with Capitec’s Fraud Prevention and Identification Framework.
  • Identify trends and areas of concern and escalate accordingly.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve Capitec Life objectives.
  • Liaise with external third parties to gather additional information about claim events.
  • Provide professional service to customers through their preferred channels.
