Teach Plus are seeking Aspiring SEN Teachers for full-time roles starting September 2026 in East London. You will support pupils with SEND, working closely with SEN staff, SENCOs and support teams to deliver inclusive education.

This is ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, HLTA or graduates aiming to progress into a teaching career with a focus on SEND provision.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable.
  • Teaching Assistant, LSA or HLTA experience is advantageous.
  • Genuine interest in developing a career within SEN teaching.

About the role and school

Teach Plus are currently working with a number of welcoming and supportive schools across East London who are looking to appoint enthusiastic Aspiring SEN Teachers for full-time positions from September 2026.

These opportunities are ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, Higher Level Teaching Assistants or graduates who are looking to take the next step into teaching and develop a career within Special Educational Needs.

The schools provide supportive and inclusive environments where pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally. You will work closely with experienced teachers, SENCOs and support staff, gaining valuable classroom experience while developing your understanding of SEND provision.

As an Aspiring SEN Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work with pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication and interaction needs, behavioural needs and complex learning needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the learning, development and wellbeing of pupils with SEND.

  • Work alongside experienced SEN Teachers and classroom support staff.

  • Work closely with the SENCO and wider pastoral team.

  • Take an active role in the wider life of the school.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable.
  • Teaching Assistant, LSA, HLTA or similar education experience is advantageous.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
  • Relevant UK school experience is preferred.
