Job summary

Glencore in South Africa invites applications for an Artisan (Millwright) role focused on underground trackless equipment. The successful candidate will report to the Engineering Coordinator and drive production targets while upholding safety and mine standards.

The role requires a Grade 12, Full N2, and a Trade Test in Electrical or Mechanical, with at least 3 years’ experience on underground trackless machines and Sandvik rigs. A valid license and own vehicle are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 and trade-specific trade test certificates are required.
• Full N2 certificate is mandatory, with one subject theory.
• Trade Test Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical with SETA results required.
• Minimum 3 years as an Artisan (Millwright) on underground trackless machines.
• Experience with Sandvik rigs and bolters is essential.
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle are required.

Responsibilities

• The incumbent reports to the Engineering Coordinator and must meet production targets.
• Compliance with the company’s HSEC system is essential.
• Ensure implementation of management decisions and legal requirements.
• Responsible for personal safety and the safety of the crew.

About you:

• Grade 12
• Full N2 Certificate (one subject being theory)
• Trade Test Certificate: Electrical or Mechanical (with SETA statement of results, learnership agreement or relevant PoE)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Artisan (Millwright) TMM working on underground trackless mobile machines
• Technical experience on Sandvik Rigs and Bolters (Sandvik DD211, DD210, DS211 and DS210)
• Valid driver’s license and own motor vehicle
