Bidvest Facilities Management is seeking an Artisan Millwright to install, maintain and repair machinery and HVAC systems across diverse industrial environments. You will ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently to support production schedules and minimize downtime.

The role requires six years of relevant experience and a Mechanical Engineering qualification (HDip/NDip/Diploma). Preference for refrigeration experience and accreditation from a Technikon or University of Technology.

• Millwright with Refrigeration experience.
• Higher National Diploma/NDip/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Technikon or University of Technology (accredited).

About the Role

As an Artisan Millwright, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and mechanical systems in various industrial environments. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and effectively, contributing to the overall productivity of the operation. This role is essential for maintaining production schedules and minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor all air-conditioning, heating, and cooling units; schedule maintenance; identify mechanical faults; and install or repair equipment.

Install required metal ductwork, inspect liquid and vapor instruments for efficient operation, and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems.

Monitor processes for compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, report violations, and maintain accurate records within the required timeframes.

Maintain a neat, clean uniform at all times.

Repair and validate commercial HVAC systems.

Maintain current knowledge of control strategies and install required hardware and refrigerants.

Document project activities, maintain related files, monitor customer-parts inventory, and perform preventive maintenance in response to customer complaints.

Analyze business performance and recommend improvements.

Optimize customer service and manage value-added processes.

Maintain truck stock inventory and comply with all standards and guidelines.

Inspect systems and components to ensure product safety.

Identify equipment faults and repair affected systems.

Perform required preventive maintenance on all HVAC and refrigeration systems.

Repair systems and maintain safe working conditions.

Manage all equipment and supplies required for operations.

Complete all required installation and repair work.

Preferred Qualifications

Mechanical Engineering: Millwright with Refrigeration Experience

Experience: Six (6) years relevant work experience

Qualifications: Millwright – Higher National Diploma/ National Diploma/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a Technikon or University of technology accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the SAQC (Electrical qualifications an added advantage)
