ABOUT WESSELS:

The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world's manganese. This position is based at our Wessels Mine which represents one of the largest manganese reserves in South Africa.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a permanent full-time position.

As an Artisan Fitter, you will be responsible for leading the category of energy-effecting commercial agreements that optimise the utilisation and cost across the portfolio at the African operations and support operational safety, cost and committed environmental targets.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Interprets and coordinates pre-work with regards to repairs, interpretation diagrams, planned and predictive maintenance;

• Performs safety inspections of equipment and assesses risks on equipment;

• Maintains a clean and safe worksite;

• Ensures the upkeep of maintenance tools and equipment;

• Coordinates activities associated with trouble-shooting and repairing maintenance equipment.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have 3-5 years experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• In depth knowledge on inspection & repairs of pumps is essential

• In depth knowledge on inspection & repairs of Sewage treatment and oil separation plants is essential

• Experience in the maintaining & repairs of Ventilation fans will be advantageous

• Experience in uv80 and Telhandler experience will be advantageous

Qualifications for this role are:

• Serious contenders will have a Grade 12 with Mathematics & Science/Technical Drawing or N2 Technical Certificate with a relevant Mechanic Trade Test;
