Job summary

Bridgestone Brits, South Africa, is seeking a skilled Millwright to manage and provide technical support for mechanical and electrical equipment necessary to meet production goals. This on-site, permanent full-time role requires hands-on maintenance of rotating machinery, hydraulics and pneumatics.

The ideal candidate will have a trade-tested Millwright qualification and at least 5 years in manufacturing, with tyre industry experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in mechanical field on rotation machinery, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Manufacturing environment experience is required.
• 3+ years in tyre manufacturing/automotive industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reduce machine downtime.
• Repair breakdowns & fault finding.
• Daily walkthrough inspections.
• Make running adjustments.
• Note items for repair.
• Continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work according to SOPs.
• Ensure housekeeping; apply 3S principles.
• Ownership – think beyond the role.

ABOUT THE ROLE

JOB PURPOSE

To manage and provide technical support as required for delivery of all the mechanical and electrical equipment required to achieve organisational goals.

EDUCATION AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Qualified as a Millwright (Trade test at a recognized institution)
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the mechanical field on rotation machinery, hydraulics and pneumatics in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the tyre manufacturing and automotive industry will be an advantage.
