Area Sales Manager (Hardware / Construction) – Kwazulu Natal.

A national credit provider in the building materials finance space is looking for a dynamic Regional Sales Representative to grow and manage relationships with hardware merchants across South Africa.

The role focuses on merchant acquisition, credit solution adoption, and regional performance management. The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with hands-on sales execution, travelling regularly to drive business development and optimise merchant engagement.

Salary: R18 000 to R20 000 per month + Commission + Company Car + Company Cell phone and Laptop.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid South African driver’s license
  • Minimum 1-year tertiary qualification (Certificate or Diploma)
  • 3+ years’ proven sales experience (hardware/building materials or financial services preferred)
  • Willingness to travel extensively (regional coverage)
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication (comfortable engaging store owners and staff)
  • Demonstrated experience in merchant acquisition or territory development
  • Knowledge of credit or finance products (Advantage)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Acquire and onboard new hardware merchants for credit solution integration
  • Drive regional sales performance and credit adoption targets
  • Build and manage strong relationships with store owners, credit champions, and internal teams
  • Execute regional sales strategy and adapt plans based on local performance data
  • Analyse sales reports and identify opportunities for growth or improvement
  • Provide hands-on support to stores and merchants, ensuring engagement with credit products
  • Maintain detailed reporting on merchant activity, pipeline progress, and sales goals
