Job description

A well-known supplier of food ingredients, serving the food manufacturing and meat processing industry, requires a professional to drive and oversee all commercial aspects and technical troubleshooting on a variety of products within the meat, bakery, and related markets.

POSITION INFO :

Minimum requirements for the role :

  1. A relevant degree in food technology or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
  2. Previous senior sales or key account management experience in the food ingredient, manufacturing, or meat processing industry is preferred.
  3. Strong business development skills with a focus on growing market share.
  4. Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  5. The candidate must be willing to work with non-kosher, non-Halal, and pork products.
The successful candidate will be responsible for :
  1. Driving and overseeing all commercial activities, managing senior key accounts within the meat processing, bakery, and related markets in the Western Cape.
  2. Ensuring a value-added approach to all key accounts and expanding market share across categories.
  3. Achieving volume and budget targets for ingredients and casings.
  4. Enhancing product and industry knowledge, along with promotional activities when necessary.
  5. Building and maintaining client relationships to ensure service effectiveness.
  6. Submitting weekly sales reports to senior management.
  7. Developing new business and market opportunities.
  8. Managing customer expectations regarding stock and deliveries.
  9. Communicating new product and service opportunities, as well as feedback from field activities.
  10. Generating ideas and executing special sales initiatives and innovative sessions.
  11. Participating in promotional and marketing events as required.
  12. Optimizing sales and market share through effective client relationship management.
