Job Description

Preferred location: South Africa(Remote possible with regular travel)

As our Area Sales Manager, you’ll help drive growth across a dynamic and fast-developing region. We’re looking for someone who understands the recycling industry, is genuinely interested in innovative technology, and is motivated by creating real value for customers by understanding their needs. At TOMRA Recycling, we’re leading the way in sustainability through cutting-edge solutions - this role puts you right at the heart of that mission.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute sales strategies tailored to the African market.
  • Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and conferences.
  • Identify new business opportunities through market analysis.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Report market trends and forecasts into CRM.
  • Prepare offers, negotiate contracts, and win projects.
  • Take ownership of your regional sales budget and performance.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in the Waste Recycling industry, ideally involving sensor-based sorting or Material Recovery (MR) plant operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Engineering or a related field.
  • A track record in capital equipment or long-cycle technical sales.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience working across international, multicultural environments.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); other regional languages are a plus.
  • Willing and able to travel internationally up to 75%.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and confident working independently.
  • Skilled in using MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
