The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for driving revenue and margin growth through the development, planning, and execution of the sales strategy for our company's equipment in the Gauteng region of South Africa.
Responsibilities
Increase market share by finding, signing, and developing new distributors for our company's equipment.
Train, guide, and develop existing distributors to help grow their sales in the region.
Develop and implement sales plans and strategies to promote continued growth of our company's product portfolio and achieve sales targets.
Manage sales leads through to closure and monitor against approved budgets to ensure financial results are on, or ideally above, target.
Present and demonstrate our company's product range and associated benefits for customers and dealers.
Negotiate sales contracts and associated product supply milestones.
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the region, industry, and customer needs and requirements.
Supervise implementation of new products and features.
Represent us at industry events and trade shows and collaborate with the Marketing Communications Group.
Prepare periodic sales reports and forecasts as required.
Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with the company's Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE), Ethics & Compliance policies.
Perform any other duties as requested by the Regional Manager.
Education, Experience, Training and Special Skills
Degree / Diploma in Land Surveying (Geomatics) or Engineering Survey.
5 years of commercial experience in Land Surveying, Mapping, and analysis.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Resourcefulness, flexibility, and a sense of urgency.
Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal.
Proven industry experience in selling products & services to end users or applied knowledge of implementing solutions in the construction industry.
Knowledge of a wide range of surveying equipment and the requirements of customers.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface at all levels and functions.
Entrepreneurial drive and strong work ethic.
Strong sense of urgency, responsibility, and accountability.
