Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a sales environment
  • Ideally hardware, lending, or FMCG experience
  • Minimum 1 year of post-school qualification

The Area Sales Manager will implement sales strategies to achieve goals by signing up new hardware merchants and leading, developing, and motivating existing merchants and credit champions to optimize credit sales.

Operational activities include:

  • Identifying and converting new prospective hardware merchant partners to use our client’s credit solutions
  • Optimizing credit sales of existing merchants through proactive engagement
  • Planning and executing sales strategies
  • Using data, reports, and dashboards to identify issues and opportunities
  • Delivering the monthly sales budget within the region

This role is hands-on, requiring execution at tactical and detailed levels, with extensive travel within the region. The role reports to the Regional Sales Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Planning: Execute the annual sales strategy for the region
  • Sales – New Hardware Merchants: Source and convert new merchants
  • Sales – Existing Hardware Merchants: Maintain good relationships
  • Marketing: Implement marketing initiatives to meet sales targets
  • People Management: Lead and manage external sales functions
  • Stakeholder Management and Communication: Share performance reports and provide feedback

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

Relevant tertiary qualification in Sales or related experience
