Job summary

Hospitality and Outdoor – Woodstock, Cape Town, is seeking an experienced Restaurant Area Manager to oversee a group of restaurants in Woodstock. You will ensure consistent operations, profitability and high service standards across all locations.

The role requires strong multi-unit management experience, solid financial acumen, and the ability to lead and develop restaurant teams. Willingness to travel between sites and work varying shifts is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Area Manager in a multi-unit environment.
• Strong understanding of restaurant operations, procedures and service standards.
• Proven ability to improve restaurant profitability and manage P&L performance.
• Strong financial skills, including budgets, expenditure, variance and waste analysis.
• Ability to identify poor-performing restaurants and implement corrective action plans.
• Conduct regular restaurant inspections, safety audits and maintenance walks.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and company standards.
• Provide leadership, coaching and strategic direction to restaurant management teams.
• Strong employee relations, training, succession planning and team engagement skills.
• Monitor labour costs while maintaining required service standards.
• Submit accurate daily, weekly and monthly reports; conduct GM and engagement meetings.
• Comfortable with evenings and travel between restaurants; strong communication and leadership abilities.
