fibertime is revolutionising internet access by providing unlimited, pay-as-you-go fiber connectivity to underserved communities in South Africa.

Our mission is to bridge the digital divide by offering affordable, high-speed internet, enabling opportunities for education, employment, and personal growth.

We are rapidly expanding our network across multiple cities and townships, aiming to make reliable internet accessible to all.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You're not just an Area Manager Growth (1 x Gauteng North; 1 x Gauteng South)—you're a leader, a problem-solver, and a community connector.

You understand that building infrastructure in townships is about more than fiber cables; it's about relationships, cultural awareness, and seamless execution.

You thrive in fast-paced environments, can navigate operational challenges with agility, and drive growth without compromising quality. If you're a strategic thinker who excels at managing contractors, ensuring top-tier build quality, and fostering community trust, we want you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO (AND LOVE DOING)
  1. Network Expansion & Build Execution: Oversee the rapid connection of homes, ensuring build projects are completed within deadlines. Manage third-party contractors to maintain quality, efficiency, and compliance with build specifications. Plan and schedule network expansions, ensuring alignment with internal priorities and growth strategies. Minimize disruptions during construction while maintaining high network performance and service delivery. Ensure adherence to best practices in aerial fiber deployment within a GPON network. Implement quality control measures to guarantee high construction and installation standards.
  2. Community Engagement & Stakeholder Management: Work closely with communities to mitigate disruption and ensure network infrastructure is protected. Build trust with local leaders, community representatives, and residents to facilitate smooth project execution. Serve as a key point of contact for Network Operations, providing real-time updates on build progress.
  3. Field Team Leadership & Vendor Management: Recruit, train, and manage contractors, ensuring they deliver on project timelines and quality standards. Manage contractor SLAs and MSAs to uphold service-level agreements. Work alongside security teams to proactively assess risks and ensure safe deployments.
  4. Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement: Monitor network performance post-build, ensuring seamless activation of new connections. Identify and implement process improvements to accelerate growth and enhance efficiency. Maintain accurate stock records and report material requirements proactively.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
  • Proven experience in aerial fiber deployment within a GPON network.
  • Strategic execution skills to drive projects from planning to completion efficiently.
  • Leadership ability to recruit, train, and manage contractors effectively.
  • Community awareness and cultural sensitivity, especially in South African townships.
  • Technical knowledge of fiber networks, power systems, and infrastructure builds.
  • Problem-solving mindset to anticipate and resolve challenges.
  • Strong communication skills for stakeholder management and team alignment.
WHY JOIN US?
  • Be a Growth Driver: Play a crucial role in expanding fibertime's network and impact.
  • Work Where It Matters: Lead projects directly in communities.
  • Make a Real Impact: Help bridge the digital divide and bring connectivity to underserved areas.
  • Career Growth: Own the build strategy for a province and be recognized for your leadership.
